Trippin'

This is the time of year that our Frosh overnight trip usually occurs! I WILL find a way to recreate that experience, somehow, some way : )

In the meantime, I'd like to hear about school excursions that you participated in that were more memorable than not. You may share:

- An anecdote/brief moment that  you experienced.
- Just the location your class visited.
- Or... simply list three adjectives that describe the experience.

No need to reply to others on this blogger entry...

I look forward to reading through your responses!

  6. We visited a YMCA camp overnight in Pennsylvania, and I have a vivid memory of an activity called "pond-ecology," where we had to wade into a pond with rain boots that were falling apart and collect bugs.

  11. I think they took us to a math museum but all I remember is that it was near a Dunkin donuts, donut planet and domino's.

  13. In 5th grade my school took us for an overnight trip to an nature center where there were hikes and such. But the somewhat fun somewhat annoying part was the songs. At every single meal we’d sing the same 4 songs about composting and animals and such and by the end of the trip everyone in my grade had memorized all of the songs, and we would randomly sing them a bunch after the trip.

  15. I went on this day trip with my grade last year and for some reason I remember one activity very well. We were split into teams and each member, blindfolded, had to hold a piece of string so that a ball would stay upright, and we had to walk to the other end of the court. If any one member wasn't holding the string right, the ball would fall. At first, my team argued and we kept dropping it, but then we came together and listened to each other and finished first!

  17. This requires a backstory but I’ll try to make it short.
In 7th grade, my teacher was On Maternity leave for the first few months of the new school year and our substitute was our principal because her office was 5ft away and it would be easy for us all. So my whole middle school had a trend of naming their classes after colleges and my class was UPENN.
So the trip was a surprise in November. Our principal said that she wanted to take the amazing kids she taught earlier in the year to the college they were named after, so my whole class went to the University of Pennsylvania. Now this trip was amazing, the campus was huge and they took us to a gorgeous library. But the experience I am going to talk about is that we had lunch and they had multiple pizzas on display, an ice cream serving table, and a conveyer belt that would move dirty plates to the kitchen to wash. This was an amazing experience and I loved every moment of it because I had lost my lunch earlier on the trip.
